Found in 2009,Ubuntu Cbo a community-based organisation founded in Nyando Sub County Kasuna Village in Kisumu County was geared towards improving the livelihoods of the community.
Most of them who are Orphans and Widows and elevating education amongst the children coming from poor families within Kasuna and Ombaka Villages in Nyando sub county.
Ubuntu CBO has managed to sponsor more than one hundred Opharns since its establishment in 2009 to date.
In the year 2023 April a family from Kakola Ombaka was left in agony after the husband and a wife died mysteriously after a short illness leaving behind eight children of which one of them happened to be a four months old boy.
This led to their elder sister stopping her education in class six to baby sit their younger sibling who by that time was four months old.
The girl could not manage taking care of her siblings as there were also twins amongst the eight children,this made life so difficult for the children as they could not sustain themselves with food and better health.
This made Ubuntu Cbo through their Chairman Mr.Anthony Lucci to act in order to help the children and they were taken to Ubuntu orphanage where they were taken to school and the younger siblings were also being taken care of in the orphanage.
According to madam Eunice Atieno,who is the care giver of the children at Ubuntu cbo opharnage,she said that the life status they found the children was so bad and they had to seek for medication for the children before they were taken to school and the young boy’s health was also restored after the treatment.
She added that the boy has since turned one year and doing well health wise,she added that they are very happy with the organisation’s effort to help a life which could have been destroyed by hunger and diseases.
” I am the care giver of the children at Ubuntu Cbo Opharnage,we are so happy that the boy who was taken at four months old is now turning one year old and its our pleasure and hoping that they will one day prosper in their lives”,Said Eunice.
Andy John is the manager of the Ubuntu Orphanage who said that they are celebrating the boy’s birthday at one year old to show love to the orphans within the orphanage.
” We are very much delighted today by celebrating the young boy’s birthday at one year,this is a sign of love and unity amongst the orphans within the orphanage and it show that everything is possible”, Said Andy.
Peter Odhiambo is the vice chairman of the Ubuntu cbo orphanage who narrated how the children were living before they were taken by the Orphanage.
He said that they are having many Orphans and Widows who are getting help from the Orphanage and even wish to extend their hands to the entire county of Kisumu.
” We are helping the community mostly the orphans and Widows and those coming from vulnerable families,this help we are giving through the help of Ubuntu Eve Germany who have been our partners since we founded in 2009″, Said Peter.
