Seme Constituency Member of Parliament Dr.James Nyiakal has unveiled a multimillion Sub County headquarters at Kombewa to ease access to government service to the locals.
According to Dr Nyikal, the story building constructed at a cost of 40million Kenyan shillings, will accommodate all government offices within the Constituency, hence reducing hurdles of travelling far by locals.
While addressing the public, Dr Nyikal noted that it has been difficult for locals to get better services due to the fact that government offices were far placed.
For instance, he outlined that since the courts were as far as Maseno, a hundred kilometers away, it has contributed to many cases delaying.
” Most cases always die a natural death in Seme because the courts are far and most of the time the witnesses cannot afford walking to Maseno when they don’t have transport”, Said Nyikal.
He said that with the new building they are now ready to have a court and a host of other government offices such lands registry and social services offices.
The MP also asked for a police divisional Headquarters to be placed in Kombewa, now that the town is now a municipality town hence there is need for more security apparatus.
Nyanza regional Coordinator Ms Florence Mwora while speaking during the launch, urged the residents to always abide by the law to enhance security within the Constituency.
She however applauded the area Member of Parliament for the good job and promised to push for the establishment of the court and a police divisional Headquarters as soon as possible.
Mwora added that with the police Divisional Headquarters in Seme, it will help in enhancing security, bringing more development to the area.
The RC however pleaded for patience while the process of bringing the court and a police force divisional is being undertaken by the relevant authorities.
