Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Ezekiel Machogu has put an end to announcing top performers in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2022 as it has been the culture in the history.
Machogu categorically announced the categories of performances without revealing which student or school emerging the best.
Out of 884,264 total number of students who sat for the 2022 KCSE examinations, 1,146 scored A(plain) with 271 being female and 875 male students.
Only 19% of the students scored C+ plus and above, the score line to direct entry to the University.
12,769 female students scored C+ and above while 18,062 male scored C+ and above.
A total of 30,822 students scored E in the 2022 KCSE examinations.
Kenyans will now determine the winner through their own evaluation by sending students’ KCSE index number followed by the initial ‘KCSE’ to 20076 in order to access individual results.
180 (8.8%) students with special needs scored C+ and above
2022 Candidates performed better than 2021 candidates while the number of students who scored low reduced compared to the previous results.
