Kisumu West Sub County records 97% education transition

The local administration in Kisumu West Sub County in Kisumu county has done a 97% towards the government 100% transition for form one admission.
This is according to the Kisumu West Deputy County Commissioner Maurice Wanyonyi.
Speaking to KTMN during an interview, Wanyonyi said  that through the coordination of  the National Governamnent Administrative Officers (NGAO) they have ensured that no child is left without reporting to the nearest day school next to them.
He said the all the day schools are free except the lunch fee which is not a must for student to pay hence there is no need of staying with children at home.
” The government has already paid the full school fees for the day secondary schools and I don’t see the need of children staying at home”,Said Wanyonyi.
He also urged the parents within Kisumu West to ensure that no child is left without going to school be it in secondary or primary or even pre-primary.
The commisioner congratulated the good work his chiefs have done in ensuring that the children have reported in their respective schools and urged them to ensure the that the remaining  3 per cent be full filled before end of February.
Parents who are not keen in taking their responsibility of ensuring their children’s report to the nearest day school will also face the law as the government has already paid all the school fees for the children.
He noted that as per the directive of the president, free primary, junior secondary and secondary education funds have been disburst and no Headteacher should send any pupil or student back home for fee.
” Our work is to ensure that we full fill the government directive of hundred percent transition as was directed by the president”, said Wanyonyi.
