Man-Eaters of Homa Bay County

Remains of half roasted head

Police in Homa Bay County have recovered a partially burnt human head in Kasgunga sub-location, Mbita sub-county.

According to the police report from Mbita police station, Francis Kasuku, the area assistant chief reported that the incident occurred at Luanda Nyamasari beach.

After thorough police interrogation of the locals, they established that the incident happened after a night vigil by the New Gift of Gog Roho Church led by Pastor Daniel Okoth Okumu.

Okumu had invited Bishop Charles Ouma Ododo of Roho Fweny (vision) church for the night vigil Easter Prayers on April 8, 2023.

According to the locals, the invited bishop confessed to the congregation about God’s message to him that there was a human head in Lake Victoria, 50 meters from the lake shores.

The man of God further led the believers into retrieving the head from the waters the following morning.

The Roasted Head

On April 9, 2023, in the morning, bishop Ododo came out with the head which he placed at Luanda Nyamasari beach and later led the congregation into burning the skull in the absence of the area assistant chief or police.

The assistant chief, Francis who arrived much later at the scene called the police to intervene and dig deep into the matter.

At this time, the man of God had vanished into unknown destinations and the efforts by the police to locate him bore no fruit.

The burnt head was photographed and transferred to Homa Bay County Teachings and Referral Hospital where it was confirmed to be a human skull.

The skull, however, has been kept at the hospital mortuary awaiting further forensic analysis.
