Orange Democratic Movement party leaders and supporters in Kilifi County have exuded that the party will scoop majority seats in the August 9 general election.
They also thanked the party for recognizing its die hard supporters by including several of them in the proposed nomination list in both parliament and County Assembly.
Mr. Douglas Charo, a resident of Sokoke area in Ganze Sub County thanked ODM party leader Raila Odinga for including a local youth, Fikirini Jacobs Katoi for nomination of the senate adding that the area will remain an ODM stronghold.
“Thank you Baba for nominating Fikirini Jacobs as senator of the republic of Kenya, may God bless you as you head to become president,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Mr. Victor Rimba who said that they are proud of their fellow youth to get such nomination in the senate.
“We thank our party and party leader for considering someone from this small village for such a position, and I urge Fikirini to go and represent us well.
Mr. Fikiri, a resident of Bamba area in Ganze Sub County tops the list of ODM nominees in the national assembly and the senate and is currently among the top youthful brass at the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya party.
Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire said that Kilifi voters will still vote six piece ODM and the other parties such as Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) shall lose with a very big margin.
Mwambire added that voters were already decided and that when campaigning in some areas people tell them that they have already made a decision that their president is Raila while their governor and senator are Gideon Mung’aro and Stewards Madzayo respectively.
Speaking at Kang’amboni area after officially laying the foundation for the Teddy Mwambire Secondary school, Mwambire said that they have already laid down enough strategies to protect Raila’s votes and ensure that he wins.
“Kilifi by today even when you look at those doing opinion polls it shows we shall win by over 70 percent and what remains now is to ensure we protect our votes and make sure people turn out in large numbers to vote,” he said.
He added that even PAA candidates are campaigning for President Raila instead of their Kenya Kwanza partner which shows the former Prime Minister is the one who is going to become president.
He hailed ODM for nominating one of their own as senator saying it shows that the party values them adding that there are also other nominations for MCAs.
Mr. Mwambire also said that once sworn in office, Raila had promised to construct the proposed Rare dam at Vitengeni area to tap rain water for irrigation.
“The agreement that we have between us and Raila is the Rare dam and that we are waiting for with bated breath and we are confident that if he wins the project will commence,” he said.
He added that only irrigation agriculture will solve the perennial water and hunger issues in the area.
“Our governor candidate Mung’aro has also promised to invest in irrigation agriculture and that is what we stand for,” he said.
Mr. Mungaro who was at Dungicha area to hunt for votes, exuded confidence that ODM will deliver all the seats and urged politicians and Kenyans to campaign and maintain peace.
He said that he will invest in irrigation agriculture through construction of dams and water pans to empower residents.
