Tension has ensued at Pwani University, the Kilifi county Tallying Center, as Kilifi North Member of Parliament Owen Baya stormed the place on Thursday evening demanding to be issued the certificate and be announced the winner.
In his argument, Baya accused IEBC of planning to rig the area parliamentary results saying that he has an evidence.
“IEBC wants to doctor the results which shows am the winner in order to issue my opponent the certificate after which they expect me to go to court”, Baya said adding “It can’t happen and I will not allow it”.
The incidence that saw Regular and General Police officers move to the center hall to force out everyone brought tension and drama among the electoral officials involved in the tallying process.
This happens amidst pressure from political aspirants to IEBC release the County results especially the MCA and MPs across the seven constituencies in Kilifi.
Kilifi County IEBC manager Hussein Gure however has not commented on the incidence despite being involved in the clash.
Earlier on, he had urged political leaders and KIlifi residents to stay calm as they await the results to be announced as soon as the tallying process is completed.
