Uhuru should stop imposing leaders on Kenyans, says Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga

Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga has told President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop imposing Raila Odinga on Kenyans instead remain neutral and give Kenyans a chance to choose who will succeed him in August polls as he retires.

He added that Uhuru should leave Raila Odinga to face Deputy President William Ruto in August polls.

“Kenya Kwanza has asked Uhuru Kenyatta to leave Raila Odinga for us, we want to show them that we will lead the nation after August polls,” Mwambu said.

Speaking at Lwanja area, West Bukusu ward Bumula constituency on Monday, Mwambu asked Uhuru Kenyatta to leave Raila Odinga to compete with Kenya Kwanza leader DP William Ruto adding that Ruto will win the elections as the fifth president of Kenya.

“I want to clearly tell Raila Odinga that Ruto will beat him hands down, let’s stop attacking Ruto on every occasion, please ask Raila to come and tell us what he will do for Kenyans if elected the president,” he said.

He said that sons of tycoons will not sit in boardrooms and decide for Kenyans who will be the President.

“We will not allow Uhuru, Gideon Moi and a section of Mt. Kenya business community decide for us who will succeed President Kenyatta,” he said, hustlers have also the right to lead the nation,” he added.

Mwambu rubbished the move by the Azimio la Umoja team to install a candidate, Jack Wamboka, to compete him in the DAP-K party saying that he won’t defeat him.

“Last week the Azimio team was here in Bumula for a rally, I listened to them but I found no agenda they told Bumula residents,” he said, he asked his long time political rival Jack Wamboka to stop applying political accusations instead tell people his agenda.

The lawmaker also condemned ODM leader Raila Odinga and Suna East MP Junnet Mohammed for making reckless sentiments during political rallies saying that they risk dropping the country into chaos.

“I don’t expect Raila and Junnet to be blasphemous to that extent, they should gauge statements before uttering them,” he noted.

However, Mwambu blamed Azimio la Umoja team for approaching and sweet talking Kenya Kwanza supporters to join their team citing the recent incident where Sirisia MP John Waluke was approached to support Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.

Waluke has been serving in UDA as Bungoma County chairman but last week he reunited with President Uhuru Kenyatta to seek re-election.

“Let Azimio la Umoja team be satisfied with the supporters they have, they have stormed our team enticing them with little cash to support them, will we see the name they will brand Waluke after all accusations that he is a thief,” he said.

On her part, Bungoma woman representative Nancy Kibaba who was present at the event urged residents to elect her to the position of the woman MP arguing that the incumbent woman MP Catherine Wambilianga has failed residents.

She added that if given the chance to serve as woman MP Ms. Kibaba will support teenage mother’s access to education adding that Wambilianga promised to support women business but nothing she has done.

“In 2017 I ran for the woman MP seat but was defeated by woman MP Catherine Wambilianga, I humbly ask that you support my bid,” she added.

Ms. Kibaba who decamped from the Azimio la Umoja team said that Raila Odinga has no agenda to change the nation, assuring that it’s only Ruto who has a clear agenda to change the economy.

Nancy Kibaba will go into nomination with Maria Nato and former teacher and KUPPET treasurer Rebecca Masibayi.
