President William Ruto to Deliver 2024 State of the Nation Address to Parliament
President William Ruto is scheduled to deliver the 2024 State of the Nation Address to a joint sitting of Parliament on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
The address, which is an annual constitutional requirement, will provide the President with an opportunity to outline the progress and achievements of his administration over the past year.
The announcement was made by Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, who communicated the President’s message to Parliament.
According to Wetang’ula, the address will focus on key issues including national security, the promotion of national values, and the government’s efforts to improve the lives of Kenyans.
“I wish to inform the House that I have received a message from His Excellency the President conveying that he intends to deliver the 2024 State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Thursday, November 21, 2024,” Speaker Wetang’ula said.
The State of the Nation Address is a significant event in Kenya’s political calendar, offering an opportunity for the President to highlight the administration’s achievements, challenges, and strategic priorities for the year ahead.
It also serves as a forum for Parliament to assess the state of the nation and its response to the President’s proposals.
The address will be broadcast live to the public and is expected to focus on the government’s progress in addressing key issues such as economic development, national security, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and governance reforms.
