Mystery deepens over the status of County Chief of Staff, Mr. Charles Odhiambo, as the Progress Plus Alliance (PPA) formally demands answers regarding his alleged dismissal and current whereabouts.
In a strongly worded letter addressed to the Governor, Hon. Kennedy O. Ondiek, the Alliance questioned the legality of Mr. Odhiambo’s removal, citing possible violations of Articles 35, 47, and 236 of the Constitution. The letter demands immediate clarification on the grounds and process of the purported dismissal.
The PPA also raised alarm over an internal memo that appears to assign the Chief of Staff’s duties to Hon. Roselynn Omolloh.
The Alliance has labelled the move unconstitutional, stating it contravenes Executive Order No. 1 of 2022, which outlines the structure and delegation of executive functions within the county government.
Hon. Ondiek has issued a seven-day ultimatum for an official response, warning of serious legal consequences including petitions, reports to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and potential judicial review proceedings.
As of the time of this release, the county government has not issued any official statement on the matter.
Mr. Charles Odhiambo was appointed Chief of Staff in 2022 and has since played a key role in coordinating interdepartmental operations and implementing the Governor’s agenda.
Known for his technocratic approach and influence within the executive, his abrupt disappearance from public duties has sparked widespread speculation.
Earlier this year, Mr. Odhiambo was linked to an alleged sex scandal that attracted significant public attention and led to a violent incident in which he was reportedly brutalised under unclear circumstances.
While details remain sketchy, no official charges or statements have been made by authorities or the county government regarding the matter.
The scandal, followed by an unofficial reassignment of his duties, has only deepened concern about transparency, due process, and internal power dynamics within the administration.
