Suba South Member of Parliament, Caroli Omondi has sharply criticised his opposition counterparts on they have been responding following their presidential bid, under Raila Odinga as the flag bearer.
The Mp who was speaking at a Church Construction fundraising in Uriri Constituency i on September 10, 2023 said that there is only one president and that all must accept to work with him.
“Let us all accept this reality and accept that we lost the presidential bid to UDA led by President William Ruto, and that is how it will be for the nest five years,” he said.
Omondi also used the opportunity to respond to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party decision to oust him among other Mps and threats to derigister them from the party.
He blatantly said that he and other leaders are not regretting the decision they made and the path they decided to follow.
“We are being singled out and all blames heaped at us because we decided to work closely with the Kenya Kwanza government, a worthy decision that personally, am not regretting,” he said.
The first time Mp said that through the Workin closely with the government, the areas they represent have seen major developments marked by repeated visit by senior government officials.
He added that it is time now to advice the opposition to concentrate on positive criticism and shun the blame games within it.
Caroli’s statement came after the ODM’s letter threatening to deregister them from the party, giving Mark Nyamita and Paul Abour an ultimatum to seek forgiveness by paying a fine of Ksh1million, a statement that was read by John Mbadi, ODM chairperson.
“We all know that one cannot be a judge in a case that involves him. He, (Mbadi) has publicly declared the interest in my seat and so we all know what he is up to with all that,” he added.
Omondi, together with Paul About (MP, Rongo Constituency) were given ultimatum to apologize on allegations of having ditched ODM party.
Felix Oduor, (Langata MP), Mark Nyamita (Uriri MP), Tom Ojienda (Kisumu Senator) and Gideon Ochanda (Bondo MP) were on the same note, given notice of deregistration from the party.
On September, 8,2023, the leaders were blamed for abandoning ODM party, which sponsored them to the assembly, supporting the move to call them back for a fresh elections as valid.
This was on a public rally headed by Raila Odinga and the Azimio brigade held a public rally in Migori County, hosed by Suna West Member of National Assembly, Peter Masara.
Mp Caroli called on the leaders to advice the citizens to concentrate on farming, asking them to make sure that they encourage the citizens to make good use of the cheap fertilizer which has been subsidized by the national government.
