The Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry has announced that it is set to host the inaugural WCF Africa Summit, scheduled for June 2025.
According to the sectorscchair Mr Erick Rutto, the prestigious designation marks a significant milestone for Kenya and KNCCI, following a rigorous and competitive bidding process where “we stood out among several strong contenders.”
The official during a a presser on Monday termed the achievement “a testament to the relentless efforts of KNCCI and the steadfast support from our partners.”
“The WCF Africa Summit represents more than just a conference; it is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of commerce and industry across our continent. For the first time, Africa will host this influential global event, which aims to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from Africa and beyond to foster dialogue, collaboration, and economic growth,” he noted.
The summit is anticipated to host over 4,500 participants from more than 70 countries, including key stakeholders from various sectors while emphasizing Kenya’s role as a regional hub and highlight the strength of our private sector.
It will further showcase Kenya’s significant contribution to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and affirm our position as a premier investment destination.
Hosting the WCF Africa Summit, he said would a monumental opportunity for Kenya, attracting investors, creating trade and partnership prospects, and significantly enhancing our tourism and hospitality sectors. It will also reinforce Kenya’s reputation as a vibrant and innovative economy capable of hosting global events of this scale.
Mr Ruto reiterated KNCCI dedication to collaborating with government, private sector, regional blocs, and the international community to ensure the Summit’s success. We are committed to creating a platform that addresses pressing business issues and explores new growth opportunities.
