A localized initiative in Siaya County is turning international dreams into reality for hundreds of young people across the Nyanza region, offering a direct pipeline to higher education and healthcare careers in Germany.
Founded in August 2025 by Mrsopportunities a Kenyan nurse currently residing and working in Germany the Donald Dima German Medical Training Institute was established to bridge the gap for academically gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Driven by a desire to give back, Mrs. Dima structured the Bondo based institution to offer affordable, specialized training tailored for global opportunities.
The institute offers a one year German language programme alongside a one year Nurse Assistant course. Upon successful completion of the programmes, students sit internationally recognized examinations in Nairobi before beginning the process of applying for further studies and employment opportunities in Germany.
According to Mrs. Dima, the initiative was born out of her commitment to uplift the socio economic status of Kenyan youth by opening doors to quality education and professional careers abroad.
“Our vision is to empower young people with the skills and qualifications they need to secure better opportunities in Germany and improve their lives and those of their families,” she said.
Although she continues to live and work in Germany, Mrs. Dima oversees the operations of the Bondo-based institution to ensure students receive quality training and guidance throughout the programme.
Since opening its doors in August 2025, the institute has enrolled more than 500 students. The first cohort is expected to sit its examinations in August 2026, marking a major milestone for the institution.
Mrs. Dima has called on members of the Luo community to embrace initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods through education and skills development.
She encouraged residents to support programmes that create opportunities for young people rather than dismissing them without proper information.
The founder also appealed to individuals who have been spreading negative claims about the institution to verify facts before making public statements, stressing that the school operates with the objective of preparing students for brighter futures through internationally recognized training.
She further urged parents and guardians across the region to enroll their children at the institution, saying the programmes provide a unique pathway to higher education and employment opportunities overseas while contributing to the fight against poverty in the community.
