NCBA Bank has donated 200 water tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 litres, to the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVSWDA) in a major boost to water supply efforts across eight counties under the agency’s mandate.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, LVSWDA Chief Executive Officer Jackline Kemunto lauded the bank for its swift and timely response to the agency’s request, noting that the donation would significantly strengthen ongoing initiatives aimed at improving access to clean and reliable water.
“We appreciate NCBA for stepping in promptly. These tanks will go a long way in supporting our communities, especially in areas facing persistent water shortages,” Ms. Kemunto said.
LVSWDA Board Chairman Dan Omino echoed the CEO’s remarks, stating that the tanks will play a crucial role in helping the agency fulfil its mandate of ensuring clean water reaches households across the region.
He added that the agency remains committed to partnering with communities and development stakeholders to close existing gaps in water distribution
.“These tanks will greatly enhance our capacity to supply safe water to the people. We are dedicated to continuing our collaboration with the community and all partners to ensure that every corner of the eight counties benefits,” Mr. Omino said.
On behalf of NCBA Bank, Director Tirus Muthiga expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support LVSWDA’s mission, urging the agency to maintain strong partnerships as they work towards expanding access to clean and safe water.

The donation is expected to strengthen water storage and distribution networks in the counties, offering relief to thousands of residents who often struggle to access adequate clean water.
