Awendo Constituency today marked a major milestone in the improvement of learning infrastructure following the official handover of a modern storey building comprising eight fully equipped classrooms at Anindo Comprehensive School.
The event was presided over by the Member of Parliament for Awendo, alongside the NG-CDF Board Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yusuf Mbuno, Migori County Commissioner, Mr. Mutua Kisilu, NG-CDF Board Director, Sen. Naomi Shiyonga, and other distinguished guests, education stakeholders, local leaders, and community members.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the MP reaffirmed a firm commitment to strengthening education through sustained investment in infrastructure, noting that conducive learning environments are key to improved academic outcomes.
The eight-classroom storey building was funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), a program widely credited for transforming grassroots development, particularly in the education sector.
“This project is a clear demonstration of our collective resolve to invest in the future of our children. Quality infrastructure remains a cornerstone of educational excellence, and we will continue to prioritize similar projects across Awendo Constituency,” the MP said.
The MP expressed deep appreciation to the NG-CDF Board for its continued support and effective partnership in delivering impactful projects that respond directly to community needs.
County Commissioner Mr. Mutua Kisilu commended the collaboration between national government agencies and constituency leadership, emphasizing that such partnerships accelerate service delivery and promote equitable development.
The new facility is expected to significantly ease congestion, enhance the learning environment, and accommodate the growing student population at Anindo Comprehensive School.
As Awendo Constituency continues to expand its education infrastructure, the MP reiterated a pledge to roll out more development projects, including classrooms, laboratories, and other critical facilities, in line with the government’s education agenda.
