CCU Leaders Vow to Sweep Votes In Kilifi

Chama Cha Uzalendo(CCU) leaders in Kilifi County have committed to win political seats in Kilifi in August Polls by breaking political party monotony existing in the region.

During the party’s National Delegates Convention(NDC) held virtually on Thursday, the leaders converged at a Kilifi hotel committing to sweep votes in the regions their aspirants are contesting.

In the meeting that saw the aspirants receive their primaries’ certificates, CCU chairperson in Kilifi County Chiku Wanje assured Kenyans that the party is strong with outstanding manifesto in the region and will gain wins in the various wards.

“We are issuing these certificates to our 5 aspirants to go out there and win those seats. We want the whole country, not only Kilifi residents, to know that CCU will be winning in the August polls because it is not the first time”, Wanje said.

The leaders vowed to change voters’ notion of election in the fourthcoming polls in Kilifi county which has been monopolized by the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party in the precious elections.

Ganze Ward MCA aspirant, Gabriel Wasi also the CCU Kilifi chapter treasurer, cautioned voters not to vote for individuals based on their political parties without keenly analyzing their manifestos.

He said that Kilifi county is lagging behind because in the past, voters have been electing leaders from the ODM party in the region not because they are fit but because they were told to vote inn the party’s 6-piece.

“If you vote someone because they are issuing you with handouts and because they are from a party you think is your region’s favorite, prepare to suffer as long as they will serve you for 5 years. Vote because of the manifesto a leader has but not his party”, Wasi said

Sebastian Charo, the party’s organizing secretary in Kilifi county who is also contesting for Jaribuni ward MCA urged residents to validate leaders who put the people’s interest instead of their political greed.

He said that CCU aspirants are committed to change bad leadership being witnessed in the region.

Emmanuel Kithi Katana Kaloleni ward MCA aspirant said he is guided by his manifestos to the people.

“This certificate is my weapon now. I am going to use it to battle leaders who otherwise could not bring change in Kaloleni”, Katana said.

He said CCU is committed to citizen’s wellbeing and will stop at nothing but to deliver to the people.

He said he will use the certificate he has received from CCU to battle incompetent leaders who cannot solve Kaloleni residents’ prolonged problems.

CCU  kilifi Chapter Secretary Phillip Yaa said the Party’s loyalty to the people should be a reason enough for the citizens to vote for their aspirants.

Yaa is contesting for Kibarani Ward MCA in the august polls.

CCU party is led by Nzioka Mwaita who is contesting for Machakos county gubernatorial seat through Chama Cha Uzalendo party.
