Cabinet Secretary (CS) for ICT and the Digital economy Eliud Owalo has urged political leaders to unite towards addressing challenges facing Kenyans.
Owalo, speaking during the funeral service of Gor Mahia legend Caesar Awuor Handa in Barchando, Bondo, Siaya county on Saturday, said Kenyans are facing numerous challenges occassioned by economic hardships.
The CS called upon learders to forge a united front, in a bid to offer relevent and tangible solutions.
He said CSs have firm instructions to work with all elected leaders to ensure Kenya’s economic prosperity.
“At the national government, we are under instructions from the president to serve all Kenyans equally irrespective of the voting patterns, and political party affiliations,” said the CS.
“We will work with with everybody; MPs, MCAs on that main objective of development. If we have to do any politics between now and 2027, it should be politics of the economy,” he added.
The CS stated that after the 2022 general elections, time is ripe for leaders to work for Kenyans, adding that time for politics will come.
“Let us get united in addressing challenges facing Kenyans, when time for politics comes, we will come back and tell Kenyas what we have done.”
Principal Secretary (PS) for Interior Raymond Omollo said the government has rolled out several programs to benefit Kenyans.
Omollo outlined that the subsidised fertiliser initiative which has seen prices drastically come down since president William Ruto assumed office in 2022 is among the initiative the current regime are putting forward.
