The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a nationwide manhunt for murder suspect Collins Jumaisi, who escaped from police custody under unclear circumstances. Jumaisi, the prime suspect in the Kware murders, managed to flee early Tuesday morning along with 12 Eritrean nationals detained for illegal entry into Kenya.
On Thursday, DCI issued a public appeal for information leading to the arrest of Jumaisi, offering a significant cash reward for credible tips. The fugitive hails from Shiru Sub-location, Shaviringa Location, Hamisi Sub-county, Vihiga County.
“Anyone with information on Collins Jumaisi’s whereabouts is urged to come forward. A cash reward will be provided for credible leads that result in his arrest,” the DCI statement read.
Jumaisi was set to face murder charges before his escape. The exact circumstances surrounding his breakout remain under investigation. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to recapture him and are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The DCI has reassured the public that the Eritrean nationals who escaped alongside Jumaisi are also being pursued by law enforcement agencies.
For any tips or information, citizens are encouraged to contact the DCI via their toll-free hotline.
