Mr. Denise A.O. Kodhe, Director General of the Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa (IDEA), has been invited to attend the United Nations Summit of the Future 2024, scheduled to take place in New York from September 20th to 23rd.
The Summit of the Future is a high-level event that will gather world leaders, academics, civil society organizations, and multisectoral representatives to build a new international consensus aimed at improving the present and securing a better future.
During the summit, participants will convene at the United Nations Headquarters to adopt the Pact for the Future. This includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations, which seek to address the pressing global issues and challenges facing our world today.
IDEA is honored to be among the leading civil society organizations invited to this prestigious event as a member of the UN ECOSOC. The summit will focus on creating equitable solutions to global challenges and ensuring a fairer future amidst ongoing conflicts and upheavals.
In addition to the main summit, the Secretary-General of the United Nations will host Action Days, specifically led by youth, to highlight the changes needed for future generations. These two days will be dedicated to generating actionable insights and engagements for a better world.
