The Jubilee Party has formally requested the Registrar of Political Parties to remove the Wiper Patriotic Front, led by Hon.
Kalonzo Musyoka, from the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, citing ideological and strategic misalignment.
The move, outlined in a letter dated November 5, 2025, and signed by Jubilee Secretary-General Hon. Jeremiah Kioni, threatens to deepen rifts within the opposition alliance formed in 2022.
In the letter addressed to the Registrar, Jubilee argues that Wiper’s recent public associations and discussions with rival political formations are inconsistent with the objectives, vision, and collective stand of the Azimio coalition.
“It has come to our attention, and is now a matter of public record, that Wiper Patriotic Front has openly associated, collaborated, and entered into alignment discussions with political formations whose policy positions, strategic direction, and public conduct are at odds with Azimio’s goals,” the letter states.
Jubilee, a key member of the coalition, emphasizes its commitment to maintaining ideological coherence, organizational discipline, and strategic unity within Azimio.
The party contends that Wiper’s actions undermine coalition stability and create confusion among supporters nationwide. “Wiper’s continued association with parties and formations outside the coalition framework jeopardizes our shared objectives,” Kioni wrote.
The request invokes the provisions of the Political Parties Act (No. 11 of 2011) and the Azimio Coalition Agreement executed in 2022, urging the Registrar to initiate the formal process of removing Wiper from the coalition registry and updating all official records accordingly.
Jubilee reaffirms its dedication to strengthening multi-party democracy and coalition-based governance in Kenya, calling for acknowledgment of the request.
The development comes at a sensitive time for Azimio, following the sudden death of co-principal Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga on October 19, 2025, which has left the coalition grappling with leadership transitions.
Musyoka, who is currently leading a delegation to Bondo to mourn Odinga, has yet to respond publicly to the expulsion bid.
