Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, was tragically shot dead on the evening of April 30, 2025, in a targeted attack along Ngong Road, near the City Mortuary roundabout.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 PM when two men on a motorbike opened fire on Were’s vehicle. One of the assailants shot at close range before fleeing the scene at high speed.
Were’s driver, who survived the attack, was reportedly unharmed.
Eyewitnesses, including traffic officers at the scene, were said to have witnessed the shooting.
The MP was quickly rushed to Nairobi Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
