Police are set to unravel the cause of the death of a middle-aged man whose body was found in River Migori over the weekend.
The unidentified body, according to police was discovered in the Migori River near Dip area in Milimani sublocation, Suna West Sub County, on Sunday
Residents who had gone to the river to fetch water for domestic chores discovered the man’s body in his mid-thirties.

Area Assistant Chief Winnie Abong said the deceased had visible facial and upper limb injuries.
The administrator noted that investigations into the bizarre death were underway while calling on locals to volunteer information that would help in unravelling the cause of the death.
“We are yet to identify the cause of the death but it appears a blunt object might have hit the deceased,” she said.
She added, “Locals here say the face looks familiar but they cannot specify his real identity.”
She did, however, say that members of the community where the body was
Mrs Abongo stated that they believe the deceased was involved in the Migori accident, which claimed the lives of eight people.
Migori County police Commander Mr Mark Wanjala stated on the day of the fatal road accident in Migori town that one of the pedestrians was hit by the lorry involved in the accident and the impact pushed him into the Migori River, where the water swept him away.
The body was taken to Migori level four hospital mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.
