“We’ve seen the power of collective action as teen mothers form peer groups, advocating for their rights,” Brenda notes proudly.
Aligned with the World Women’s Day 2024 theme, ‘Count Her In: Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment,’ Brenda believes investing in women, especially teen mothers, creates a healthier, safer, and more equitable society.
MyBody MyBody contributes to this agenda through social media campaigns and strategic partnerships, recognized by UN Women for advancing Sustainable Development Goals.
In Kenya, the “Solutions for Supporting Healthy Adolescents and Rights Protection (SHARP)” project, funded by the European Union, is making a transformative impact.
With vital support from the Faith to Action Network, SHARP reaches adolescents in Isiolo, Marsabit, and Mandera, as well as Nairobi’s informal settlements like Mukuru kwa Njenga and Kibera.
Additionally, My Body My Body implements the project alongside these partners, ensuring a comprehensive approach to adolescent health and rights across the region.
Ms. Brenda extends gratitude to partners like the State Department for Gender, the Ministry of Health, and Faith to Action, stressing collaboration and learning from marginalized communities.
