The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) has officially called off its strike following a successful agreement with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The strike, which had entered its second week on Monday, resulted in the temporary closure of several schools and the early dismissal of students.
The agreement, finalized on Monday evening, includes a commitment from the TSC that no teacher will face retaliation as a result of the strike. Both Kuppet and the TSC have agreed to address any remaining issues during the strike’s suspension period.
Kuppet extends its thanks to all parties involved for their cooperation and is optimistic about resolving outstanding matters promptly to facilitate a smooth resumption of normal school operations.
