Mombasa Cement Company has brought smiles to over 350 people with disabilities nationwide through their recent Artificial Limbs Medical Camp held in Mombasa.
Over two days, a dedicated team of doctors and specialists from India provided artificial limbs and callipers, with an additional 500 applicants eagerly seeking the same transformative experience.
Transformative Experience: Artificial Limbs and Calipers
Rajesh Jambo, a volunteer representing Mombasa Cement Limited, shared their vision during the event extending an open invitation to individuals in need of these life-changing services.
“We will be covering all over Kenya, so we are inviting anybody from all over Kenya to apply and get this service,” Rajesh Jambo, a volunteer from Mombasa Cement Limited said.
For those interested, the process is simple.
Walk into the Mombasa Cement offices along Haile Selassie Avenue, opposite Royal Court Hotel, get registered, have your measurements taken, and, in a matter of three to four months, step into a new phase of life with a perfectly fitted artificial limb.
Invitation to Nationwide Services
“We will be organizing these camps nationwide every four months; our sponsor encourages this frequency We welcome anyone in need of our services to visit our office for free registration,” added Rajesh.
Mubarak Kiptoo Salim, from Kitale, expressed his gratitude, eagerly awaiting his prosthetic leg after a road accident in 1992 led to an amputation.
Salim’s hope is for Mombasa Cement to expand its reach, opening branches in areas like Eldoret or Kitale, to benefit even more disabled individuals.

Frequent Nationwide Camps
Asha Mwajanja, a mother residing in Ukunda, Kwale county, celebrated the newfound mobility of her son Saad Mwinyi, born with a defective leg.
She commended Mombasa Cement for providing a lasting solution, unlike previous attempts that fell short.
Harrison Chishenga, from Malindi, shared his journey of living without a leg since 2001 due to cancer, having recently received his artificial leg after an assessment in November, he looks forward to reclaiming his independence from crutches.

Rose Kahindi, who underwent a leg amputation due to diabetes last year, found solace through Mombasa Cement’s initiative.
She applied for an artificial leg last year and expressed her joy and appreciation for the support received.
