Nyabondo Boys High School has emerged victorious in the Volleyball games during the Nyanza Regionals sports tournament held in Kisii County.
This victory crowns them as the Nyanza Champions in Volleyball, marking a significant achievement after a long presence in the sports limelight.
In the semi-finals, Nyabondo Boys faced Nyabisia, scoring a total of three sets with points tallying 25, 25, and 36, while Nyabisia managed to win only one set, leading to a final score of 3-1 in favor of Nyabondo.
In the final match against Sagegi Secondary School, Nyabondo Boys won all sets with scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-23.
This dominant performance secured their title as the Volleyball Nyanza Champions.
School principal Mr. Jared Opanga expressed his delight and ambition for the team, stating, “I am very happy that my team is now the Nyanza Regionals sports Champions in Volleyball, and we are headed to the National sports tournament.
Our mission is to reach the East Africa games, and I assure you, my team is determined to play up to that level.”
Coach Mr. Evans Oliech attributed their success to the discipline and self-determination of the students.
Nyabondo Boys High School is now preparing to face national teams from various parts of the country and is optimistic about their prospects of advancing to the East African games
