Onjiko Boys High School has been crowned the winner in the recently concluded Nyanza Regionals sports tournament held in Kisii County.
Their basketball team, known for its resilience and skill, clinched victory after a tough match against Sawagongo Boys, securing their place in the upcoming national secondary sports tournament, also to be held in Kisii County.
In the semi-finals, Onjiko faced Ambira Boys and triumphed, earning their spot in the finals and subsequently advancing to the national tournament at the end of July.
School principal Mr. Joseph Were expressed his joy and confidence in the team, saying, “I am thrilled with our victory. We are now focusing on the National games, and our sights are set on winning the East African sports tournament.”
Onjiko Boys, the current defending basketball champions, are determined to retain their trophy at the national level, showcasing their unwavering dedication and competitive spirit.
