Homabay Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman Hamilton Orata has alluded the move made by the outgoing ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga for appointing the governor for kisumu county Professor Peter Anyang Nyong’o as the new party leader terming the move as the best way.
Orata while speaking to KTMN said that the move is timely as the governor is one of those pioneers of the ODM party and as the first Secretary General of tha party,he is able to lead the party with alot of Humility.
He said that ODM party still remains a strong party in kenya and therefore, as party members they have hopes of getting more members under the leadership of Prof.Anyang Nyong’o.
He also urged the elected leaders within the region to focus on the development of the region and should not be engaging in early politics as a witnessed in some of areas.
” I am urging odm elected leaders to focus on how development can reach to the people and not engaging in early politics”, said Orata.
Orata asked the ODM members to continue with the recruitment of the new members to make the party grow and urged the leaders too to join hands in ensuring the party gets more members come 2027,says party registration and revitalisation is key to ensure the growth of the party.
” We want the party to be vibrant because it is the only avenue we have to get the positions”,Said Orata.He also asked odm members to be sincere with the party and serve the party wholeheartedly.
