Busia Residents Marks Raila’s 79th Birthday acknowledging his contribution to Kenya

While addressing Busia residents during ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s 79th birthday celebrations in Busia, Mr Odilo said that there is a need for Kenyans to acknowledge the contribution Mr Odinga has made in bringing democracy to Kenya’s politics.

“Raila Odinga has done a lot in Kenyan politics. Everyone has seen it. As we celebrate his 79th birthday today it is time we need to support him in ascending to the presidency. Raila is still strong, those who claim that he is too old are wrong,” said Mr Odilo

“As people of Busia, we are going to continue supporting him politically. What we are urging him is as people of Busia we vote and remain vigil to protect his votes here, baba should do the same elsewhere so that in the next general elections he wins elections.”

Odilo was in the company of ODM members of the County Assembly of Busia, including Matayos South Ward Mr Denis Okinda, Burumba area Member of county Assembly Mr Tony Onyango, and their Busibwabu counterpart Harrison Nyongesa.

The MCAs appealed for unity in the county adding that for the county to move forward in development there is a need for unity among its residents.

They called upon the county government of Busia to bring the modern kiosks as they had promised earlier adding that during the reorganizing of the town the governor Dr Paul Otuoma had assured the traders in Busia town to change their working environment for the better.

“Busia town is a cosmopolitan town and nobody is here by mistake. My wish is for all of us to stay together as one community to foster development.” Said Matayos south member of the county Assembly Mr Okinda.
