The Inter-Faith & PaRD Forum 2024 is underway in Brasilia, Brazil, convening an influential group of interfaith leaders, multisectoral organizations, government officials, and civil society representatives from around the globe.
This pivotal event is co-organized by IF20 and the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD).Mr. Khushwant Singh, Head of the PaRD Secretariat, highlighted the forum’s impressive turnout and smooth proceedings, underscoring its importance in fostering global dialogue.
In the session on ‘Religious Action on Corruption,’ Mr. Denise Kodhe, Director General of the Institute for Development and Leadership in Africa (IDEA) and former Presiding Officer of the African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOCC), addressed the critical issue of corruption.
He described corruption as a pervasive and destructive force that undermines development, human rights, and core human values.
Mr. Kodhe urged religious organizations to elevate awareness among their communities about the detrimental effects of corruption.
He emphasized that corruption erodes societal morality, hampers effective leadership, and jeopardizes the integrity of both individuals and institutions.
